Congratulations to Tünde on successfully defending her Masters, “Mapping Fibroblast-Mediated ECM Remodeling
Across Dimensional Microenvironments with
Multimodal Optical Microscopy Imaging”!
In her work, Tünde explored how fibroblasts remodel their surrounding extracellular matrix (ECM) in asthma. By combining confocal, second harmonic generation, and Raman microscopy with machine learning, the work reveals how disease state, ECM composition, and culture dimensionality shape cell behavior, mitochondrial activity, and collagen organization. These findings provide new insight into the cell–ECM interactions that drive tissue remodeling in chronic lung disease.
Tünde has already started her PhD - unfortunately with another group :) - and will be moving to a more computational area.
Congratulations, Tünde!
